To support people who may otherwise not attend EACD Annual Congresses, the EACD Galway 2026 Organising Committee is providing a number of bursaries. Please click on the button below to go directly to the Bursary Application Form:

General guidelines
To support professionals from low income countries to attend EACD Galway 2026, we are providing bursaries for professionals for on-site participation to the main congress. The EACD Galway 2026 Organizing Committee seeks out applicants who are highly motivated, and who are ready to disseminate knowledge acquired at the congress to others in their home country once they return. Particular emphasis is placed on assisting those from Hinari countries (https://www.research4life.org/access/eligibility/).
To support people with lived experience (PWLE) and their family caregivers, we are providing also bursaries for PWLE/families for on-site participation to the main congress.
Bursary recipients receive:

Waived on-site or online registration to EACD Galway 2026;

Valuable networking opportunities;
-
Opportunity to learn from multi-disciplinary experts in the field of childhood-onset disabilities.
Application process
To apply for an EACD Galway 2026 Bursary for Professionals or an EACD Galway 2026 Bursary for PWLE/Families, please submit your application via the Bursary Application tool (coming soon) by at latest Friday 28 November 2025 Please note incomplete applications will be rejected.
Please note that the data entered to apply for the bursaries will be sent and processed to/by the European Academy of Childhood-onset Disability, Spoorwegstraat 12, 8200 Bruges, Belgium to evaluate the submissions.
Bursaries for professionals
Your bursary application should include:

Your motivation letter (statement of your motivation for applying for the scholarship, how you propose to implement any new knowledge obtained into your current practice and share the information with others)
Bursaries for families
Your bursary application should include:

Your family status (e.g. person with a disability; parent; sibling, etc.)

Your motivation letter (statement of your motivation for applying for the bursary and why you would like to participate to the congress)
